ORLANDO, Fla. - For the first time in his career, Saint Leo baseball senior infielder,
Ryan Crivello, was tabbed the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
On the weekend, Crivello produced a .643 batting average, going 9-for-14 with two home runs, 14 RBIs, eight runs scored, three doubles and two walks. He posted a 1.286 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage as the Lions swept Colorado Christian in a four-game series. Crivello also recorded his first career grand slam in a 23-2 win over the Cougars.
Following the sweep, Saint Leo earned a top-10 spot in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) South Region poll by coming in at No. 10. This is the first time that the Lions have earned a top-10 regional standings under head coach Josh Kiem.
Saint Leo returns to action on Friday, February 13 as it hosts Parkside in non-conference game, starting at 5 p.m.
