SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo women's basketball fell at home to the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic by a score of 80-66. Junior Olivia Agunzo led the way with a career high 26 points.
First Quarter:
Palm Beach Atlantic opened on a strong scoring run, but Saint Leo stayed aggressive attacking the rim and working the glass. Freshman Jailenn Green sparked early offense with strong drives, while sophomore Amy Duggan and junior Olivia Agunzo helped stabilize the tempo despite the Lions trailing 24–14 after one.
Second Quarter:
Saint Leo delivered its best stretch of the afternoon, finding rhythm offensively and tightening its defense. Jocelyn Gagnon connected from deep and Agunzo controlled the pace, helping the Lions outscore the Sailfish 24–17 in the period and cut the deficit to 41–38 at halftime.
Third Quarter:
The Lions continued to compete possession by possession, keeping the margin within reach through balanced scoring and steady defensive effort. Green remained aggressive offensively while Duggan added key baskets, as Palm Beach Atlantic carried a 63–57 edge into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter:
Saint Leo continued to battle late, forcing turnovers and creating second-chance opportunities, but Palm Beach Atlantic converted key possessions down the stretch to secure the final margin. The Lions' effort throughout the middle quarters highlighted their ability to respond to early deficits and maintain offensive balance.
