BOCA RATON, Fla. — Saint Leo University women's basketball fell on the road by a score of 84–68. Despite the loss, the Lions showed great depth, as 9 individuals scored.
FIRST QUARTER
Saint Leo opened with pace and confidence, shooting nearly 48% in the period and getting major production from its bench. Sophomore Amy Duggan came in firing, going 3-for-3 for six points, including a transition jumper with eight seconds left that put the Lions ahead at the horn. Freshman Zoe O'Leary established herself early with six points in the paint, while freshman Jailenn Green attacked downhill for six more, converting all four of her free throws. Junior Olivia Agunzo drilled a three off a turnover to spark a 6–0 run that gave Saint Leo its first lead, the Lions led 26-25 after one.
.SECOND QUARTER
The Lions continued to match Lynn possession for possession, leaning on their depth and interior presence. O'Leary reached eight points and seven rebounds by halftime, while freshman Dackjerlin Senior Feliz added steady minutes and a composed finish at the rim.
Green pushed into double figures before the break, and Saint Leo's defense held Lynn to just one made three in the quarter. The half featured 13 ties and 14 lead changes, and was knotted at 44 going into the half.
THIRD QUARTER
Saint Leo briefly seized momentum, grabbing its largest lead of the night after a composed stretch of half court execution. Agunzo facilitated well, finishing with three assists, while graduate student Paula Llovich knocked down a three to keep the Lions within striking distance.
Junior Mira Hanna added physicality inside, finishing the night with six points and six rebounds. But Lynn responded with a 7–0 run late in the quarter, swinging the lead back in its favor heading into the fourth. Lynn took a 65-60 lead going into the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER
The Lions continued to compete defensively, generating second chance opportunities and forcing tough shots, but the offense cooled late. Duggan and O'Leary each reached double figures, and Green capped her night with a team high 16 points, including a pair of strong drives early in the quarter.
Saint Leo's bench contributed 29 points, and the Lions won the offensive rebound battle 14–14, converting those into 13 second chance points. The lions ultimately fell by a score of 86-68.
