St. PETERSBURG. Fla. - Saint Leo women's basketball fell on the road to the Eckerd Tritons, 83–51 in an SSC contest.
First Quarter:
Eckerd opened hot from three, but junior Olivia Agunzo kept the Lions within reach with early perimeter shooting, finishing the frame as Saint Leo's primary offensive spark. Freshman Jailenn Green attacked the paint to generate second-chance looks, helping steady the offense.
Second Quarter:
Saint Leo responded with its best stretch of the night, outscoring Eckerd 15–7 in the period. Agunzo knocked down back to back threes, freshman Zoe O'Leary controlled the glass, and the Lions put together a 10-point run to trim the margin and shift momentum.
Third Quarter:
Eckerd used transition offense to rebuild separation, but Saint Leo continued competing. Agunzo added key buckets, and O'Leary finished strong inside while protecting the rim defensively.
Fourth QuarterThe Lions battled through the final stretch, with O'Leary converting inside and Agunzo connecting from deep to close out the scoring, and Saint Leo ultimately fell 83-51.
