SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team lost 12-10 at home in the series finale on Sunday afternoon in non-conference play against Parkside.
The Lions took a 4-0 lead in the third following a sacrifice-fly from redshirt junior
Camdin Jansen. In the fifth, the Rangers scored a three to cut their deficit to 4-3. Seniors
Amai Rivera-Martinez and
Roberto Odor drove in runs during the bottom of the fifth to extend their advantage to 6-4. However, Parkside three straight runs to claim a 7-6 edge. Senior
Dylan Mass tied the game with a sac-fly followed by senior
Ryan Crivello knocked in two runs with a single to right field as the Lions led by a 9-7 margin.
The Rangers scored five runs in the eighth to retake the lead at 12-9 and the Lions answered with one run in the ninth with a sac-fly from Mass, 12-10.
On the mound, junior
Cian Phillips pitched 6.0 innings and tallied six strikeouts while allowing four runs (none earned) on four hits and was dealt a no decision.
Saint Leo returns to action on Friday, February 20 as it travels to face Tampa in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) opener at 6 p.m.
