TAMPA, Fla. - Saint Leo women's basketball dropped their 2026 road opener against the Tampa Spartans by a score of 108-59.
First Quarter
Saint Leo opened the game with strong defensive energy, competing physically and attacking the paint to keep the score tight early. The Lions moved the ball effectively on offense and limited second chance opportunities but the Spartans mounted a quick lead.
Second Quarter
Saint Leo continued to battle in the second quarter, forcing turnovers and creating transition chances. The Lions generated quality looks offensively and stayed connected through defensive pressure.
Third Quarter
Coming out of the break, Saint Leo raised its intensity on both ends of the floor. The Lions pushed the pace, attacked downhill, and turned defense into offense to chip away at the deficit. Improved ball movement and rebounding highlighted one of Saint Leo's most productive stretches of the game.
Fourth Quarter
Saint Leo fought through the final period, executing offensively and making multiple defensive stops to remain competitive down the stretch. Despite the loss the Lions still drilled 8 three pointers.
