Men's Soccer Falls in SSC Opener at Palm Beach Atlantic, 2-1

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. The Saint Leo men's soccer team came up short in its Sunshine State Conference (SSC) opener on Saturday night, dropping a 2-1 decision on the road to Palm Beach Atlantic at the Rinker Athletic Campus.

The Lions struck first in the 38th minute when redshirt freshman Jorge Perez Rosales found the back of the net with an unassisted goal to give Saint Leo a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Palm Beach Atlantic responded in the second half with the equalizer in the 61st minute and gained the 2-1 advantage in the 81st minute.

Saint Leo finished the match with six total shots, including three on target, with Perez, senior Adam Yousfi, and freshman Christian Getsos each providing opportunities on frame. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper James Knudson recorded one save while playing the full 90 minutes.

Palm Beach Atlantic held a slight 10-6 edge in shots and a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Saint Leo returns to action on Wednesday, September 24 as it hosts Florida Southern in a conference bout, with kick off scheduled for 7 p.m.
