SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's basketball head coach Spencer Henke has announced the promotion of graduate assistant coach Drew Hedman to the program's full-time assistant coach position ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Hedman, who joined the Lions last year as a graduate assistant, quickly established himself as a key member of the staff. His efforts in player development, recruiting, and game planning played an integral role in the team's growth and success throughout the 2024-25 campaign.

"Beyond excited and proud of Drew," said Henke. "He has made a huge impact on our program in just one year as a graduate assistant in terms of player development, recruiting, and game planning – making him beyond ready for this jump. Not only that, but he embodies our standards of being Fearless, Driven, Empowered, Relentless, and Selfless. I'm looking forward to continuing to build something special with Drew going forward."

Prior to Saint Leo, Hedman gained experience through both coaching and player development opportunities that prepared him for his transition to the collegiate ranks. His promotion marks the next step in his rising career as he continues to build within the Lions program.
