SAINT LEO, Fla. – Former Saint Leo men's basketball forward and 2024 graduate, Cantia Rahming, has signed an overseas professional contract with Bayreuth in the ProA League 2nd Division in Germany.
Rahming stated, "Being at Saint Leo gave me the opportunity to have teammates who pushed me to be the best possible version of myself. I wouldn't have achieved the success I had without them. Coach Henke throughout my career has always seen the light at the end of the tunnel, uplifting me, and helping me get past the mental blocks I have faced. I am more than appreciative of my time at Saint Leo and value the lifelong connections I have made."
Rahming spent four years in the Green and Gold from 2021-24. Over the course of his career in the Sunshine State, he averaged 10.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while shooting .617 from the field. During his senior campaign, Rahming averaged career-highs of 12.8 points and 10.7 boards per contest.
Saint Leo head men's basketball coach
Spencer Henke stated, "I'm beyond proud of Cantia for earning his first professional contract in one of the best basketball countries in the world. To be a part of Cantia's growth during his time at Saint Le was a huge honor and I'm extremely proud of him accomplishing one of his goals that he relentlessly pursued since the day I met him. He was a relentless rebounder from day one but truly grew his game and confidence to be one of the best all around forwards in the SSC before he used his last year of eligibility at South Alabama." Henke also said, "He is going to have a great career and be a pro for many years to come and I can't wait to cheer him on for years to come."
Rahming most recently played for South Alabama, a NCAA Division I program in Sun Belt Conference, last season. He appeared in 27 games while scoring 80 points in addition to grabbing 82 rebounds and shooting .544 percent from the field.
