Wills and Davies Named USILA All-Americans

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's lacrosse juniors defender Owen Wills and midfielder James Davies were named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-Americans, announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon.

Wills collected Second Team recognition while Davies garnered Honorable Mention Team status.

Wills set a single-season program record for most caused turnovers with 34, which ranked second in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) and tied for 10th in the nation. The Canada native was tabbed the SSC Defensive Player of the Year and received a First Team All-SSC nod last month. Wills led a Lions' defense that ranked third in the conference as it only allowed 10.99 goals per game and third in caused turnovers with 150. Earlier this week, Wills was named the USILA South Region Defensive Player of the Year.

Davies registered career-highs this past season with 54 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. The North Carolina native finished with the fifth most ground balls in the league and cracked the top-15 in forced turnovers. Davies helped the Green and Gold collect 557 ground balls while it paced the conference with 34.81 ground ball per contest. Last month, Davies garnered First Team All-SSC recognition and was named a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American last week.
