LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Led by junior defender Owen Wills, who was tabbed the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II South Region Defensive Player of the Year, the Saint Leo men's lacrosse team have three players earn All-Region recognition, announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Wills also collected First Team All-Region laurels in addition to his USILA Region Defensive Player of the Year. Junior James Davies garnered Third Team All-Region honors followed by junior attack Aidan Knoetgen, who was named to the Honorable Mention All-Region Team.

Wills was recently the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Defensive Player of the Year and named a USA Lacrosse Magazine Third Team All-American. Wills served a mainstay for the Lions defensive effort that ranked third in the SSC in scoring defense as it only allowed 10.99 goals per game. The Green and Gold also boasted 9.38 caused turnovers per contest, the second most in the conference. Wills set a new single-season caused turnover mark with 34 on the year which is tied for the 10th in the nation.  
Davies, who was named a First Team All-American selection by USA Lacrosse Magazine last week, ranked fifth in the SSC with 54 ground balls that were a career-high in addition to registered a career-best 16 caused turnovers. Offensively, he dished out three assists as he appeared in 16 games with 15 starts for the Green and Gold. Last month, he was named a First Team All-SSC selection

Knoetgen ranked seventh in the conference with a career-high 28 goals and finished runner-up with 28 assists. The New York native registered a .619 shot on-goal percentage in addition to collecting 19 ground balls this season. The Lions' offense ranked fourth in the SSC with 11.25 goals per game.
