Jessica Harclerode were named to USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Teams, announced by the organization on Friday morning. Palomba was tabbed to the First Team and Harclerode collected a Third Team selection.
Palomba, who recently was tabbed an All-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) First Team honoree and the conference's Midfielder of the Year in addition to an IWLCA South Region First Team recipient, ranked second in the conference with 126 draw controls. The Georgia native broke the SSC career-record for most draw controls and is the only SSC women's lacrosse player with 500 or more career draw controls.
On the year, Palomba led the Lions with a career-high 49 goals that ranked top-10 in the league while dishing out seven assists for a total of 56 points. She posted three game-winning goals this past season along with 11-player up goals. Defensively, Palomba caused 19 turnovers and collected 29 ground balls.
In the net, Harclerode notched a .449 save percentage with a total of 166 saves on the year. She logged the second most minutes in the net in SSC standings with 1,102 minutes. The New York native set a new program single-season record with 13 wins commanding the net. Harclerode notched a career-high 166 saves while facing 506 shots. In her career, she has 35 victories as the goalie.
Palomba and Harclerode are the program's first players to be named to the All-American Teams and helped Saint Leo earn the fifth-seed for the SSC Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament in addition to guiding the Lions to an 11-10 victory over sixth-ranked Lynn in the postseason. The Green and Gold also earned its highest ranking in the IWLCA standings this year as it polled as high as number six.
