SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University softball continues to rise in the national rankings. The Lions have now been ranked for three consecutive weeks as they move up a spot to #14 in the latest NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Saint Leo currently sits two games out of first place in the Sunshine State Conference standings with a 17-7 SSC record. The Lions are one of three SSC schools in the top 25 poll, trailing only #4 Tampa and sitting above #20 Nova Southeastern. Rollins is also receiving votes in the latest poll.

The Green & Gold are currently 34-10 overall. Statistically, on offense, the Lions are one of the top teams in the SSC, leading the conference in batting average (.342), sacrifice hits (71), and fielding percentage (.974). In the circle, the pitching staff has held opponents to just a .222 average behind the league leader Tampa with .219.

Saint Leo returns to action this weekend as it heads to Boca Raton for its penultimate SSC series at Lynn.
