SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University women's lacrosse team moved up in both national polls as the latest national rankings were announced on Monday morning. The Lions are #6 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) coaches poll and #8 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll. Last week, the Green & Gold went 2-0 with wins over then-#18 Rollins, 21-11, and a redemption victory at then-#6 Lynn, 11-10, in the SSC quarterfinals. Saint Leo improved to 13-8 overall.

The Lions join Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern, Lynn, and Tampa ranked in both polls as the SSC makes up half of the top 10 in IWLCA poll and the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll.
Saint Leo is one of five SSC women's lacrosse teams ranked in the week eight poll by the IWLCA. The Lions trail #1 Tampa, #3 Florida Southern, and #4 Embry-Riddle. Below the Lions at #6 in the poll are #19 Rollins, and #21 Florida Tech.
In the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll, the Lions are one of six teams from the SSC ranked with four ranked in the top 10. Lynn (#9) and Saint Leo (#8) jumped up a spot from last week's poll, Tampa (#2) and Florida Southern (#3) continue to hold their ground.
The Lions head to Tampa on Thursday to take on the top-seed and top-ranked Tampa Spartans in the semifinals of the 2025 Sunshine State Conference women's lacrosse tournament presented by Pollo Campero. Saint Leo and Tampa are scheduled for a noon opening draw on Thursday, April 24.
