TAMPA, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's tennis team closed out its 2025 Sunshine State Conference schedule with a 5-2 win at Tampa on Thursday evening. The Lions earned the doubles point before taking four singles courts to earn the victory. Saint Leo improves to 13-8 overall and 4-5 in SSC play with two matches to go as the Spartans fall to 2-16 overall and 0-9 in conference matches.

Saint Leo won the doubles point 2-1 with wins at number three and two doubles. Madelyn Martin and Catherine Rabatin opened the match with a 6-1 win at number three doubles. The visitors clinched the early 1-0 lead with a 6-1 win at number two doubles by Claudia Borbon Roca and Camila Keller. Tampa closed out doubles play with a 6-3 win at number one doubles.

Keller dominated in a two-set victory, 6-1, 6-0, to put the Lions up 2-0. Tampa cut the Saint Leo advantage in half with a win at number one singles. The Green & Gold rallied off three straight wins to clinch the match victory. Kamilya Shailina won 6-3 and 6-1 to put the visitors up 3-1. Thanks to a pair of 6-3 wins at number five singles by Sophia Johnson the Lions clinched the match victory. Madelyn Martin won in three sets to give the Lions a 5-1 advantage. The Spartans also won a three-set thriller of their own with a victory by the number two singles player.
