SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo Men's Lacrosse mounted a fourth-quarter surge but ultimately fell 10-8 to visiting Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday afternoon at University Turf Stadiumin Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action. The loss drops the Lions to 8-6 on the season and 2-4 in SSC play, while the Sailfish improve to 4-6 overall and 1-6 in conference action.
Second Half Comeback Attempt
The Lions roared back in the second half, starting with a goal from Ben Baker off a feed from Brayden Stellwagen. After falling behind 9-5 at the end of the third, Saint Leo launched a late rally. Thomas Nelan, Stellwagen, and Baker each found the back of the net in the fourth quarter to bring the Lions within one.
Late Push Not Enough
Trailing 9-8 with under three minutes to play, Saint Leo looked to complete the comeback. However, a man-up goal from Patrick Law with 2:18 remaining sealed the win for Palm Beach Atlantic.
