MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – #20 Saint Leo University women's tennis team returned to Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday morning as it made the trip to south Florida. The Lions took on the second ranked Barry University Buccaneers. The highlight of a 6-1 loss to the host Buccaneers, came at number one singles as Claudia Borbon Roca needed just two sets to defeat her second ranked opponent to prevent the sweep by the home team. Saint Leo falls to 11-3 on the season and 2-2 in SSC action as the Buccaneers improve to 12-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

Barry got off to the early lead sweeping doubles play with a pair of 6-1 wins and a 6-2 win.

The home team won the first five singles matches as all six courts went two sets. On courts 2-6 the Lions went down 6-0, 6-1, or 6-2. Claudia Borbon Roca prevented the Lions from a sweep with hard fought victory at number one singles. She won the opening set in a tiebreaker wining the tiebreaker 7-3 and then claimed the second set 6-4.
