SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 win at home against Slippery Rock University on Wednesday even. The Lions won back-to-back matches after taking down #13 Mississippi College on Tuesday evening. The Lions swept the doubles play enroute to winning five singles matches to improve to 9-1 overall while The Rock falls to 3-5 on the season.

Saint Leo swept the doubles point earning wins on all three courts. Luzia Obermeier and Kamilya Shailina opened the match with a 6-3 win at number one doubles. Camila Keller and Claudia Borbon Roca clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at number two doubles. Catherine Rabatin and Madelyn Martin gave the home team a doubles sweep with a tiebreaker win at doubles three.

Keller made easy work of her singles opponent with a 6-1 and 6-0 victory to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. Back-to-back 6-3 wins at number two singles by Obermeier for a 3-0 advantage. The Rock got on the board with a win at number one singles. Sophia Johnson clinched the match victory for the Lions with a pair of 6-3 wins at number six singles. Shailina gave the Lions a 5-1 advantage before the visitors closed out the match with a three-set win at number five singles.
