SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's tennis team took down #17 Mississippi College at home on Tuesday evening. The Lions earned four singles wins to improve to 8-1 overall while the Choctaws fall to 9-2 on the season.

The visitors claimed the early lead with doubles victories at number two and three. Saint Leo's number one doubles pair of Luzia Obermeier and Kamilya Shailina opened the match with a 6-1 win at number one doubles before Mississippi College earned wins at number two/three to earn the doubles point.

Singles play opened with a straight set victory at number three singles by Kamilya Shailina, 6-4, 6-3 to tie the match at 1-1. Mississippi College regained the lead with a win at number five singles as the teams went back-and-forth trading wins at number two and six. Needing just one more victory for the win, the visitors failed to earn the win as Camila Keller won the second set in a tie breaker to tie the match at 3-3. Claudia Borbon Roca sent the visitors packing with a loss as she claimed the final two sets to two win the match 4-3.
