ORLANDO, Fla. – The thirteenth ranked Saint Leo University women's tennis team saw its six-match win streak to start the 2025 spring season come to an end on Friday afternoon with a 4-3 loss to the Rollins College Tars at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. The Lions took the early lead with the doubles point but it was the Tars that got the victory with four singles wins to close out the match. Saint Leo falls to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in SSC play while Rollins improves to 4-3 and 1-2 in conference action.

Saint Leo got off to a hot start sweeping the doubles points with wins on all three doubles courts. Luzia Obermeier and Kamilya Shailina opened play with a 6-2 win at number one doubles. The Lions clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 win at number two doubles thanks to a win by Camila Keller and Claudia Borbon Roca. The Green & Gold made it a clean sweep of the doubles action with a 7-5 win at number three doubles by Madelyn Martin and Catherin Rabatin.

Saint Leo jumped out to a 3-0 advantage with wins at number three and four singles. Kamilya Shailina made it a 2-0 advantage with a straight set win 6-1, 6-2 at singles number three. Camila Keller won 6-3, 6-4 to push the Lions on the brink of clinching with a win at number four singles. Rollins ran away with the match closing out the contest with four straight wins at singles one, two, five, and six to give the Tars the victory.
