Caleb Adams launched a grad slam to give the Saint Leo baseball team a 7-5 non-conference victory at home versus Valdosta State on Tuesday night.
The Blazers led 3-0 in the first inning after a three-run homer before Valdosta State claimed a 4-0 advantage in the second with an RBI single up the middle. Senior
Ryan Robinson trimmed the Lions' deficit to 4-1 as he scored on a pass ball. Junior

Braden Killens with a single up the middle as Saint Leo only trailed 4-2 after the second inning.
During the fourth, the Blazers scored a run on a single to right field, 5-2. Adams blasted his first homer of the game in the seventh as the Green and Gold trailed 5-3. In the ninth to set up Adams' walk off, junior
Thomas DeBrower singled while classmate
Ryan Crivello reached on an error and
Amai Rivera-Martinez walked as the bases were loaded for Adams' grand slam.
On the mound, freshman
Nick Wilson started and pitched 2.0 innings while surrendering four runs (all earned) on five hits and struck out one batter. Senior
Dawson Turner pitched 2.0 innings in relief and collected a pair of strikeouts on 43 pitches. Junior
Tyler Mecchella earned the win as he pitched in the top of the ninth and recorded two strikeouts while holding the Blazers hitless.
Saint Leo returns to action on Friday, February 28 as it hosts Palm Beach Atlantic for the first game of the three-game series at home, starting at 6 p.m.
