ORLANDO, Fla. – The thirteenth-ranked Saint Leo University women's tennis team earned a 6-1 win over Bates College in a neutral site match at the USTA National Campus on Thursday morning as it kicked off three straight matches in as many days. The Lions improved to 3-0 on the season.

The Lions opened the match with a pair of 6-0 doubles wins at number two and one doubles. Madelyn Martin and Catherine Rabatin secured the first doubles win of the match at number two doubles. The Green & Gold clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 win at number one doubles by Claudia Borbon Roca and Kamilya Shailina.  

Saint Leo jumped out to a 6-0 advantage as it rallied off five straight singles wins on the first five singles courts. Four of the five singles wins by the Lions were won in straight sets. Kamilya Shailina, Madelyn Martin, Sophia Johnson, Claudia Borbon Roca, and Catherine Rabatin all earned singles wins in the 6-1 victory. Bates earned its lone point at number six singles.
