LAKELAND, Fla. – The fifteenth ranked Saint Leo University women's tennis team opened the 2025 spring season with a 4-3 win at Florida Southern on Tuesday afternoon. The victory gives first-year head coach Austin Hensley his first collegiate win as the women's head coach. Last week, Hensley earned his first collegiate win as a head coach with the men's victory at FSC.

Saint Leo earned the doubles win in comeback fashion as the home team earned a win on the second doubles court. The Lions roared back with doubles wins at one and three to clinch the early 1-0 match lead. A 6-3 win at number one doubles by Luzia Obermeier and Kamilya Shailina tied up the doubles action. The Green & Gold clinched the doubles point with a tiebreaker victory at number three doubles by Madelyn Martin and Catherine Rabatin, 7-6(5).

Camila Keller opened singles play with a dominating win dropping just a single game to her FSC opponent winning 6-1 and 6-0 for the 2-0 advantage. Florida Southern tied the match at 2-2 with singles wins at three and five and took a 3-2 lead with a win at number six singles. Luzia Obermeier fought a hard battle at number two singles earning a 7-5 and a 6-4 win to tie the match at 3-3. After dropping the opening set 3-6, Claudia Borbon Roca rallied for a 6-1 win in the second set and closed out the victory 6-2 in the final set.
