SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team concluded its four-game series against Augusta in non-conference action with a split doubleheader as it won the series 3-1. The Lions lost game one 9-4 before earning an 8-7 walk-off victory in game two.
GAME TWO: Saint Leo 8, Augusta 7
The Jaguars struck first in the second game with a homer in the third followed by taking a 2-0 advantage on a wild pitch. Augusta led by a 4-0 margin in the fourth inning after a fielding error before grasping a 5-0 lead after an RBI-single on the left side. The Lions scored a pair of runs in the fourth as senior

Junior
Ryan Crivello notched a sacrifice-fly to trim the deficit to 5-2. The Jaguars scored another run in the sixth before the Lions answered with a sacrifice-fly in the bottom of the sixth, 6-3. The eighth inning proved to be huge for the Green and Gold as they tallied three runs to tie the game at 6-6. Augusta claimed a 7-6 edge in the ninth with an RBI-single down the right field line, however, in the bottom of the ninth Berry registered an RBI-walk that tied the game while a wild pitch scored junior
Thomas DeBrower, sealing an 8-7 win for Saint Leo.
Junior
Amai Rivera-Martinez went 3-for-4 with two runs scored while junior
Dylan Mass tallied two hits and two runs. Adams finished the game with two hits, two runs, and one RBI. Crivello tallied two RBI on a pair of hits. Senior
Braden Killens walked, drove in a run and scored a run. On the mound, senior pitcher
Kaelan Racculia earned his second win of the season as he pitched 1.0 innings with two walks and one strikeout. In relief, sophomore
Jake Rychter posted four strikeouts in 3.0 innings.
GAME ONE: Augusta 9, Saint Leo 4
During game one, the Jaguars jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning before the Lions scored a pair of runs in the bottom half of the second with a Crivello RBI-double to right field followed by a junior Ryan Jakson RBI-single to left field, 5-2. Augusta added a run in the third inning after a fielding error, 6-3. The Lions cut their deficit to 6-4 between the fifth and sixth innings after sacrifice-flies from senior
Dylan McDonald and Mass. In the seventh, the Jaguars added three insurance runs with a three-run homer from Roland Chance, 9-4.
Adams, Berry, Crivello, and Jackson each tallied a hit while Jackson, Crivello, and McDonald each drove in a run. On the hill, senior
Peyton Petry was dealt the loss as he allowed six hits and surrendered five runs (all earned) in 1.2 innings while collected a pair of strikeouts. In relief, senior
Dawson Turner pitched 4.0 innings and posted four strikeouts while allowing just three hits and one run (earned)
Saint Leo returns to action on Friday, February 7 as it hosts Flagler in a non-conference bout at 6 p.m.
