ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's basketball team lost in a Sunshine State conference (SSC) game on Wednesday night at Rollins. The Lions lost by a n 85-74 margin in the final game of the 2025 calendar year.
Head coach
Spencer Henke stated, "I'm extremely disappointed with out effort tonight. We simply got punked for 40 minutes and it wasn't good enough. We have a chance to respond on Saturday and it is needed."
At halftime, Saint Leo trailed 39-27, however, the Lions battled back in the second half as a layup from junior
Elijah Harris cut the deficit to 51-43 with14:24 remaining in regulation. Rollins answered as it maintained a 9–12-point advantage for the remainder of the game.
The Lions were led by senior
Donovan Hill as he posted 27 points with six boards, three assists, two blocks, and one steal. Junior
Luther Smith Jr. tallied 13 points with one steal and one rebound. Senior
Matt Ansah notched 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field to go along with four assists, three rebounds, one steal, and one block.
The Lions return to action on Saturday, January 3 as they host Lynn in a conference bout, starting at 4:30 p.m.
