SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team came up short on Senior Night, dropping a 1-0 decision to Rollins on Wednesday evening at University Turf Stadium in a Sunshine State Conference (SSC).
The Lions battled evenly with the visiting Tars throughout the match, but an 85th-minute strike by Rollins proved to be the difference.
Saint Leo generated several quality looks in the second half, outshooting Rollins 7-4 in the final 45 minutes and holding a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks after halftime. Senior forward
Anel Rojas led the attack with three shots, including one on target, while senior
Adam Yousfi and sophomore
Viktor Danielsson each added attempts of their own.
In goal, senior
James Knudson recorded three saves in 90 minutes of action, keeping the Lions within striking distance until the late Rollins breakthrough.
The Lions return to the pitch on Saturday, November 1 as they travel to take on Tampa in an conference bout, starting at 7 p.m.
