SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team will open its 2024 season on the road at the Eckerd College Invitational in St. Petersburg. The Lions will compete against Adelphi (Sept. 6), #4 Wayne State (Neb.) on Sept. 6, and Emory & Henry (Sept. 7).
The Green and Gold are led by fourth year head coach
Natalia Koryzna, who is assisted by second year graduate assistant,
Erin Ende.
The rotation for the Lions includes junior setter
Tajma Muharemovic, who led Saint Leo and ranked fifth in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) with 818 assists for an average of 7.87 assists per set while recording 221 digs. Additionally, the Green and Gold return senior outside hitter
Oliwia Durka and senior middle blocker
Sheila Rodriguez. Durka registered 208 kills with 26 blocks and Rodriguez commanded the net by tallying 22 blocks.
The 2024 roster features 17 new faces including six transfers in
Anyaliz Rodriguez,
Brielle Kallberg,
Paula Perez Rosales,
Molly Chappell,
Kiara Vega, and
Sabrina Valentin.
The Lions' schedule consists of a pair of top 25 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) programs which are Sunshine State Conference (SSC) foes in #2 Tampa and #25 Lynn. Saint Leo will face both the Spartans and Fighting Knights twice this season.
