Virgilio Escala as the Saint Leo men's soccer team collected a 3-2 victory at Christian Brothers in non-conference play on Sunday afternoon.
After falling behind 2-1 in the second half, the Green and Gold offense kicked into gear in the last 10 minutes of regulation with freshman
Luis Gaitan notching his first career goal off a feed from Escala in the 82nd minute, 2-2. With less than three minutes to play, Escala found Kino for his first goal of the season in dramatic fashion to win the game. The Lions defense held the Buccaneers at bay for the remainder of the game as they only mustered one shot attempt.
In the first half, the Christian Brothers claimed its first lead of the game at the 15:24 mark. Saint Leo answered 10 minutes later as junior
Anel Rojas blasted his inaugural goal of the year off a pass from Escala, 1-1.
Saint Leo out shot the Buccaneers 15-9 while the Lions also held a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Green and Gold recorded eight corner kicks while Christian Brothers only registered two.

James Knudson collected three saves in the complete-game victory.
Saint Leo returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 21 as it opens Sunshine State Conference action at home versus Palm Beach Atlantic at 7 p.m.
