Baseball Concludes 2024 Campaign with Loss to Delta State in Regionals.

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The second-seeded Saint Leo baseball team concluded its season in game three of the NCAA Division II Baseball South Region 2 following an 8-0 loss to sixth-seeded Delta State on Friday afternoon at Thomas B. Southard Stadium.

The Statesmen jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning after a two-run homer. Both defenses dominated the game the next five innings as the offenses were held scoreless until Delta State tallied a home run to plate three scores to claim a 5-0 advantage. The Statesmen recorded a pair of runs in the seventh and led by a 7-0 margin followed by an RBI-single in the eighth and gained an 8-0 lead.

During the top of the third, sophomore Dylan Mass singled to center field, but was caught stealing second base before graduate student Buck Anderson was caught stealing third. The Lions threatened in the fifth as Mass and Anderson both recorded singles, however, neither crossed home plate.
