SAINT LEO, Fla. – The top-ranked Saint Leo University men's tennis team is set to host the 2024 NCAA Division II South Regional championship. The Lions earned the number two seed in the region after going 20-3 overall and 7-0 in Sunshine State Conference play to clinch the regular season title.

Saint Leo will host the seven-seed #15 Florida Southern at 10 a.m. at the Saint Leo Tennis Center. Following the Lions and the Mocs match up, the three-seed #5 Rollins and the six-seed #11 Embry-Riddle will play at 2 p.m. The winner of the two matches will advance to the regional final match up at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Lions enter the regional with their second straight 20+ win season. Saint Leo put together a 13-match win streak during the season while claiming its second consecutive SSC regular season title and fourth in program history. At the SSC tournament, the Lions earned the number one seed and finished as the runner up following a second round 4-1 win over Embry-Riddle and the fell 4-1 in the final match to Barry.
The Lions has ascended to the top spot in the ITA team rankings as they opened the season third in the rankings. Individually in the singles rankings,
Martin Soukal ranks second,
Vincent Thiel is #8, and in doubles, Soukal and
Luis Iriarte are ranked #28.
At the end of the regular season,
Martin Soukal was named the SSC Player of the Year and earned first team honors in singles. Soukal and Iriarte were named to the first team in doubles.
Vincent Thiel earned first team honors in singles.
