FORT LAURDERDALE, Fla - In a conference matchup against Nova Southeastern, the Lions faced a tough defeat with a final score of 91-52. The Lions close out the season with a record of 12-16 overall and 6-14 in the SSC.
The game kicked off with Nova Southeastern taking an early lead in the first quarter 22-11. Despite the Lions' efforts to narrow the gap, Nova Southeastern maintained their momentum throughout the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 49-23 lead.
Saint Leo fought back in the third quarter, putting up a valiant effort to challenge Nova Southeastern's lead.
Taydra Simpson and
Jumoke Adaramoye led the Lions in scoring, each contributing 13 points to the team's total.
Chynna Mattair also put up a notable performance with 9 points and 2 steals. Despite their efforts, Saint Leo struggled to contain Nova Southeastern's offensive firepower.
