#19 Men's Lacrosse Ends Non-Conference Play with 20-3 Victory at Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The 19th-ranked Saint Leo University men's lacrosse team scored 20 consecutive goals to secure a 20-3 victory at Emmanuel University on Saturday afternoon. Greg Palmer had a game-best six goals as the Saint Leo Lions improved to 6-1 on the season and handed the Emmanuel Lions its eighth loss of the season.

Emmanuel scored the opening goal of the game at 9:03 in the first quarter putting the home team up 1-0. From that point on it was all Saint Leo as the Lions proceeded to score 19 unanswered goals and take a 20-1 lead into the final quarter.

Greg Palmer had three goals in the Lions five goal first quarter.  

JD Henninger scored his first career goal in to open the second quarter as the Lions scored a season best 10 goals. Guy Bistrow scored four of his five goals in the second quarter.

Thomas Nelan scored his first two goals of the season in the third quarter. Jake D'Antuono recorded his second goal of the season to give the visiting Lions an 18-1 advantage.

Emmanual scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter as Saint Leo was shutout in the final quarter.

Saint Leo had three goalies in the game, Chase Strait made the start making five saves and allowing one goal in 30 minutes between the pipes. Tucker Leggett made three saves in his Saint Leo debut as he shutout the home team in the third quarter. Jed Page made his season debut in the fourth quarter and allowed a pair of goals while making five saves in 15 minutes.

Saturday's game concluded non-conference play. Saint Leo hits the road to open Sunshine State Conference play in Melbourne to take on the Florida Tech Panthers. The opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.
