SAINT LEO, Fla. – The seventh-ranked Saint Leo baseball team picked up its 10th consecutive victory on Wednesday afternoon as it notched an 11-8 win over Purdue Northwest at home in non-conference play.
After both teams were held hitless in the first two innings, the Pride jumped out to a 4-0 advantage highlighted by a three-run triple in the top of the third. In the bottom half of the third, the Lions quickly answered as sophomore

Buck Anderson. The Green and Gold claimed a 5-4 edge after sophomore
Amai Rivera-Martinez launched a single to right center to bring in Davis.
In the fourth, senior
Mikey Scott blasted a three-run homer to give Saint Leo an 8-4 cushion. However, Purdue Northwest trimmed its deficit to 8-7 in the top of the fifth before Mass scored Adams with a sacrifice-fly to center field. To close the door in the ninth, the Lions brought in graduate student
Nick Jennings tallied two strikeouts in his appearance and earned his fourth save of the season. Senior
Charles Lefebvre started for the Lions as he notched a trio of strikeouts while allowing a hit and four runs in 2.1 innings and was dealt the no-decision. Senior
Drew Rudsinski collected his third win of the season during his 2.0 innings of relief as he struck out a pair and only surrendered one hit.
Buck finished the game with three hits and three runs scored. Mass posted two RBI on two hits and a pair of runs scored while Benson collected two hits on three at-bats. Scott earned three RBI and one hit in three plate appearances.
Saint Leo returns to the field on Friday, March 15 as it travels to face Florida Tech in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) play at 6 p.m.
