Box Score INDIANAPOLIS – The third-ranked Saint Leo men's tennis made the trip to Indianapolis to compete in the 2024 ITA Men's National Championship to defend its crown from a year ago. The Lions earned the third seed and drew the sixth-seed West Florida Argonauts. The three-day event is designed for each team to play three matches across the three days. Saint Leo improved to 5-0 on the season with a 4-3 victory over UWF. The match came down to the final court with
The Lions battled back to earn the doubles point after UWF opened the match with a 6-1 vicotry at number two doubles. Saint Leo won both doubles number one and number two to clinch the doubles point.
Singles wins by
Martin Soukal and
Dylan Andrianaly put the Lions up 3-0 in the match. West Florida made it a complete battle as the Argonauts took three straight wins at number three, four and five singles to tie the match at 3-3. #36
Vincent Thiel played over two hours to decide the match. He won the first set in the tie breaker and used a 6-4 victory in the second set to clinch the match and back-to-back semifinal appearances.
