WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team finished the 2024 regular season with a 3-0 loss (19-25, 20-25, 23-25) on the road at Palm Beach Atlantic in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action on Saturday evening.
In the opening set as the Sailfish held a 22-14 lead, the Lions trimmed its deficit to 22-18, however, Palm Beach Atlantic scored three of the next four points to claim the first frame, 25-19.
In the second set, a pair of kills from
Anyaliz Rodriguez and an attack error from the Sailfish cut their lead to 18-17 until Palm Beach Atlantic conducted a 7-3 run to win the set, 25-20.
Despite facing a 24-18 match-point situation, the Lions scored five unanswered to trail by 24-23, however, the Sailfish tallied a kill to claim the set 25-23.
Senior
Oliwia Durka registered 11 kills with six digs. Rodriguez collected seven kills along with three digs and five assisted blocks as she hit at a .238 clip. Junior
Molly Chappell notched six kills and four digs. Junior
Tajma Muharemovic dished out 23 assists and recorded nine digs. Junior
Giada Solorzano led the team with 12 digs.
