Men's Basketball Fires Up Bowman With 104-82 Win over Southeastern

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Marion Bowman Activities Center came alive on Tuesday night for Lake Jovtia Night as Saint Leo University Lions men's basketball ignited its own fire with a 104-82 second half domination of the visiting Fire of Southeastern University. The Lions took a small lead in the halftime break before using a 57-point second half to eclipse the century mark for the first time in 2024-25.

Saint Leo's offense was led by Amar Hot's game-leading 18 points, followed by a 17-point second half from Eric Jones. Tae Wilson (15), Brady Corso (13), Camden Cerese (12), and Owen Pawlikowski (10) all added double-digit points as the Lions improved to 2-1 on the young season. Saint Leo forced 12 steals as it got 32 points off turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Saint Leo Lions picked up a commanding 104-82 victory over Southeastern (FL), fueled by a blistering shooting performance and contributions from both the starters and the bench. The Lions improved to 2-1 on the season with the win.
  •  Saint Leo led 47-41 at halftime, but it was in the second half where they truly pulled away. The Lions shot an impressive 71.9% from the field in the final 20 minutes, including a 66.7% clip from three-point range, to outscore Southeastern 57-41.
  •  Amar Hot led the charge with an efficient 18 points on 7-8 shooting, while Eric Jones added 17 points off the bench, hitting 7-9 from the field. Tae Wilson was perfect from the floor, scoring 15 points on 6-6 shooting. Saint Leo's depth was evident as their bench added 48 points and their defense converted 18 Southeastern turnovers into 32 points.
  •  Southeastern's Ahmad Johnson and Joshua Blazquez combined for 32 points, but it wasn't enough to match the Lions' offensive firepower. With their fast-break advantage and sharp shooting, Saint Leo closed out a dominant home win in front of an energized crowd at Marion Bowman Center.
