Women’s Basketball Welcomes Eight Newcomers Ahead of 2024-25 Campaign

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team welcomes eight newcomers to the team for this upcoming 2024-25 season. Saint Leo's first regular season game will be on Saturday, November 9 as it hosts Clark Atlanta at 1 p.m. in a non-conference contest.

"We're very excited to have this group of young women join us", stated head coach Anthony Crocitto. "We have added athleticism, speed, height, and passion to a group of talented returners. The young ladies we are adding will bring extreme excellence to the classroom and pure excitement to the Bowman. We hope to see everyone out at the games this season as we look to fill the gym with amazing Lions fans", said Crocitto.

The following is a look at 2024-25 Saint Leo newcomers:

Catherine Guillaume
Miami, Fla. | Monsignor Edward Pace High School
A 5'8" Florida native was named a two-time Second Team All-Dade honoree in addition to being tabbed the 2022 Thanksgiving Steak n' Shake Shootout Tournament MVP and was awarded the Margie Wessel Scott Award. Guillaume averaged 18.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Paige Atwater
Spring Hill, Fla. | Weeki Wachee High School
A 5'8" local guard, who was voted as a two-time Gulf Coast Eight Conference Player of the Year and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Player of the Year last season. Atwater averaged 16.0 points, 2.6 steals, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals in addition to converting 80.0% of her free throw attempts. Last year, Atwater ranked No. 1 in three-pointers made in Florida with a total of 108.

Kaitlynn Weaver
St, Augustine, Fla. | Tocoi Creek High School
The 6'1" forward graduated Magna Cum Laude and is the first women's basketball player to graduate from Tocoi Creek to play at the collegiate level. Last season, Weaver led her team in blocks with an average of 1.1 blocks per contest.

Vanessa McManus
Staten Island, New York | Nazareth Regional High School
The 5'7" guard averaged 24.0 points, 3.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. She was tabbed a two-time first team All-CHSAA honoree and named the CHSAA Player of the Year in 2023. Additionally, McManus was named the Rose Super Jam Classic MVP twice.

Kayla Holloman
Brooksville, Fla. | Hernando High School
The 5'7" guard earned Hernando County Player of the Month honors in addition to being tabbed an GC8 Winter Sports All-Conference honoree. Holloman averaged 16.2 points with 3.9 rebounds along with 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals.

Nala Louis
Uniondale, New York | Kellenberg Memorial High School
The 5'11" forward was a member of the National Honors Society in her junior and senior year. Luis helped her team earn a Catholic School Championship in 2020. She averaged a staggering 3.0 blocks per game with 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 7.0 points.

Mikaela Hall
Lawton, Oklahoma | Morehead State | Eisenhower High School
Hall is a 6'2" forward transfer from Morehead State where she appeared in 28 games with 12 starts. Hall averaged 2.5 rebounds per game and scored a total of 53 points. Prior to Morehead State, Hall played two seasons at Barton Community College in Kansas. While at Barton, she averaged 6.5 points and 4.0 rebounds and helped the team earn an NJCAA Region 6 Championship. At Eisenhower High School, Hall was tabbed an Honorable Mention All-State honoree.

Shadia Lara
Quito, Ecuador | North Florida Educational Institute
The 5'11" forward averaged 16.5 points, 2.4 assists, 5.9 boards, and 3.0 steals per game. Additionally, she earned Honor Roll with a 3.5 GPA and was tabbed MVP her junior and senior seasons.
