SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University interim head men's basketball coach Spencer Henke has finalized the exhibition portion of his 2024-25 schedule. The Lions will make the trip north to Tallahassee for a meeting with Florida State University on Thursday, October 24 at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Fla. The trip to Tallahassee will tip-off a three-game exhibition schedule also featuring stops at Florida Atlantic University (Oct. 26) and the University of Miami (Oct. 30).

"What an unbelievable way to cap off our exhibition slate, adding Florida State to an already loaded schedule that includes FAU and Miami," said Henke. "Exhibition games are hard enough to come by, so our program is extremely fortunate to have three games against consistent NCAA tournament caliber programs that all reside within out state. Giving our players a chance to compete against this level of competition is what I'm all about and I can't wait to go to battle with our guys! I want to thank Coach Hamilton and the rest of the FSU staff for making this possible."

The Lions add the exhibition match up with FSU to an exhibition schedule that already includes Florida Atlantic University and the University of Miami to close out October.

Florida State is coming off a 17-16 overall record in 2023-24 that saw the Seminoles go 10-10 in ACC play. The Seminoles advanced in the ACC tournament for the first time in three seasons with an 86-76 win over #8 Virginia Tech and then saw their season end in the quarterfinals with a loss to #1 North Carolina. The Noles landed seven student-athletes on the ACC All-Academic Men's Basketball team including FSU's leading scorer Jamir Watkins who averaged 15.6 points per game and set a career-record with 34 points in the win over the Hokies. Florida State is led by Leonard Hamilton who enters his 22nd season as the head coach of the Seminoles.

Saint Leo will have a whole new look this season, from a new coaching staff and a roster featuring eight newcomers to the Green & Gold. Last season, the Lions went 11-17 overall and 6-14 in SSC play. Saint Leo returns Logan Ryan, who led the team in minutes per game in 2023-24, and Amar Hot, who averaged nearly 21 minutes a game. Alex Sherwood returns as the leading blocker and finished with the 13th most blocks in the SSC averaging just under one block a game.
