Daytona Beach, Fla - The Saint Leo Lions faced a tough test against Embry-Riddle. The Lions drop an SSC road battle against the Eagles 56-74. The Lions fall to 9-7 overall and 3-5 in SSC play.
Embry-Riddle took an early lead in the first quarter, leading 19-4. Despite efforts to narrow the gap in the following quarters, Saint Leo couldn't overcome the initial deficit.
Top scorers for Saint Leo included
Alayna Harris with 15 points,
Chynna Mattair with 14 points, and
Olivia Agunzo with 10 points. The team showed defensive efforts with steals and blocks but faced a well-balanced offense from the Eagles.
Despite the loss, there were positive takeaways for Saint Leo. The team showed improvement quarter by quarter, and individual players displayed their scoring ability. The Lions will look to build on these aspects as they continue through SSC play.

The Lions look to bounce back as they return home to take on the sharks of Nova Southeastern on Saturday January 20
th. The matchup is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. The Lions will be celebrating Greek night as well as National Girls and Women in sports day.
