SAINT LEO, Fla – The Saint Leo Women's Soccer team captured their first win of the season securing a 1-0 win over West Alabama.
Â
These two sides last faced in 2019 when the Lions captured a 2-1 win at home. This time, both teams met in a neutral venue in Columbus, Georgia.
Â
The Lions once again show their ability to compete in tough close games after landing the tight victory thanks to a goal from
Katja May which was assisted by
Franziska Theus.
Â
May lands her second goal of the season as she is starting to show how critical she can be for the Lions this season capturing their only two goals of the season so far.
Â
The clean sheet is a great look for the Lions defense as they look to show how much of a dominant force the Lions back line could be this season.
The Lions now come home for a Sept. 10th matchup versus Clayton State at the Saint Leo Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00am.
