Saint Leo Shutout the Sailfish 2-0

SAINT LEO, Fla – The Saint Leo Women's Soccer team closes out Palm Beach Atlantic on home turf 2-0.

The Lions took it to the Sailfish matching them shot-for-shot in each half but in the end, Saint Leo proved to be too critical for the Palm beach visitors.

The Lions were able to find the back of the net thanks to a clinical penalty kick from Katja May who continues to shine bright for this Lion attack.

Tonight was not only a special night for the Lions, but also for the birthday girl, Taylor Smith who found a moment of magic in the 82th minute that was the dagger the Lions needed to close the matchup out 2-0.

Hannah Goetzer had a brick wall performance in net with five saves in between the posts.

The Lions are next in action on October 4th as they travel to Lakeland to square off versus the Florida Southern Mocs in a Sunshine State Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
