SAINT LEO, Fla – The Saint Leo Women's Soccer team closes out Palm Beach Atlantic on home turf 2-0.
Â
The Lions took it to the Sailfish matching them shot-for-shot in each half but in the end, Saint Leo proved to be too critical for the Palm beach visitors.
Â
The Lions were able to find the back of the net thanks to a clinical penalty kick from
Katja May who continues to shine bright for this Lion attack.
Â
Tonight was not only a special night for the Lions, but also for the birthday girl,
Taylor Smith who found a moment of magic in the 82th minute that was the dagger the Lions needed to close the matchup out 2-0.
Â
Hannah Goetzer had a brick wall performance in net with five saves in between the posts.
Â
The Lions are next in action on October 4th as they travel to Lakeland to square off versus the Florida Southern Mocs in a Sunshine State Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
