SAINT LEO, Fla – The Saint Leo Men's Soccer team fell to Auburn Montgomery 1-0 after a close encounter against the Warhawks was decided by a header in the second half.
Â
The Lions met up with the Warhawks for the season opener for what turned out to be a physical affair where each team received four cards.
Â
For the Lions, a stand out of the night came in the form of Anjel Rojas who showed multiple moments of promise down the left wing being able to create chances while cutting into an attacking position.
Â
Despite the Lions' best defensive efforts, the Warhawks found the back of the net in the 79th minute off a header from defenseman Charlie Elliott.
Â
The Lions finished the game with six total shots while putting three on net.
Â
Goalkeeper
Ricardo Ceballos made two terrific saves that prevented the Lions from being in a much worse position throughout the game.
