Saint Leo Women's Soccer Ties 1-1 Versus Sailfish

PALM BEACH, Fla. – After a back-and-forth affair, the Lions and Sailfish finish the night all tied up at one-a-piece.

Graduate Forward Alex Collighan lead the Lions with three shots on goal.

Franziska Theus and Raylyn Straubmuller each tallied two shots in the game.

The dynamic of the game changed early right before the halftime period as both squads scored within five minutes of each other.

The Sailfish were able to strike first in the 39th minute.

The Lions were able to get off 14 shots on the night and sophomore Katja May was able to find the back of the net right before the end of the half.

Freshman Hannah Goetzer had six saves Saturday night. She made multiple impressive stops in game as the Lions fought off a furious Sailfish attack in the last few minutes.

The Lions return to action this Wednesday, Sep. 6 as Saint Leo travels to Columbus, Georgia to take on University of West Alabama at 10 a.m.
