SAINT LEO, Fla. – The #4 Saint Leo women's Tennis team hosted Eckerd College for a midweek battle. The Lions recognized
Marta Vicens Miquel,
Isabelle Niehoff, and
Celina Ermann during a senior day ceremony prior to the match. #4 Saint Leo cruised to a 7-0 victory over Eckerd.
"Great day to honor our seniors and what they have meant to our program," said head coach
Chad Berryhill. "We were also able to get a lot of different players in the line-up today, so it was great to see everyone play, and everyone get a win!"
The first doubles match featured #2
Marta Vicens Miquel and
Lavinia Lancellotti who swept the pairing of Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo, 6-0. The pairing of
Luzia Obermeier and
Kamilya Shailina followed suit with a win of their own, defeating Lili Reichert and Alexis Kwasnik, 6-1. The duo of
Camila Keller and
Isabelle Niehoff closed out doubles action with a win over Ericka Chavarria and Julia Triska, 6-4.
The Green & Gold were victorious in all six singles matches. The Lions took all but one match in straight sets. #4
Marta Vicens Miquel took the first singles match in straight sets defeating Kylie Misdorp, 6-0 and 6-1. In the sixth match,
Isabelle Niehoff defeated Maya Soligo in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, and 10-8.
Saint Leo will welcome #4 Lynn University to the Saint Leo Tennis Center, April 7th. The match is set to begin at 2:00 pm.
