Box Score 2 LAKE NONA, Fla. – The #3 ranked Saint Leo men's tennis team competed against Augustana and #23 Ferris State, Tuesday afternoon. The Lions were able to complete the midweek sweep defeating Augustana, 6-1 and #23 Ferris State, 5-2.

Chad Berryhill. "Both teams gave us good battles. We got a chance to get everyone a match today and that was the goal. Overall a great day for the Lions!"

In doubles action,
Federico Pieckenstainer and
Henrique Bertoli earned the Green & Gold their first doubles win of the afternoon, defeating Nicholas LaPoint and Meg Siritaworachan, 6-2.
Martin Soukal and
Stijn de Lange closed out doubles defeating the team of Tyson Cowger and Clayton Poppenga, 6-2.

Individually, Tao Castillo posted the biggest win of the day, defeating LaPoint 6-1, 6-1 during the second match of singles.
Martin Soukal played the only three-set match of singles, beating his opponent, 6-7 (3), 6-1, 10-3.

#23 Ferris State gave the #3 ranked Lions a challenge on the doubles side of Tuesday afternoons match, stealing two of three matches. The duo of
Nicolas Bacella and
Luis Iriarte got the best of Erik Kovacs and Yannic Alexander Madar, 7-5.

The Lions came back in singles, taking five of the six matches against the Bulldogs.
Ivan Marrero kicked off singles action with a two set win over Kovacs, 6-1 and 6-0. Soukal followed up with a two set victory of his own over Jan Koupil, 6-3 and 6-0.
Vincent Thiel earned the Lions third straight victory in singles, 7-5 and 6-2, while rounding out singles was
Ghali Mensour who won 6-4, 6-2 and Bertoli who won in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 10-3.
