LAKELAND, Fla. – The #1 Saint Leo men's Tennis team traveled to #24 Florida Southern College for a midweek showdown. The Lions were able to defeat the Mocs, 5-2.

"Hats off to Florida Southern today for staying in the matches," said head coach Chad Berryhill. "We didn't get the doubles point momentum, butwe had a really good start in singles. Florida Southern was able to take the opening doubles match, 6-4. The second doubles match featured a battle between the two teams with Florida Southern's pairing of Mario Garoz and Ryan Rajakar defeating Ghali Mensour and Martin Soukal, 7-6. Nicolas Bacella and Luis Iriarte picked up the lone doubles match for the Lions winning their match 6-2.

In singles action, #4 Ivan Marrero defeated Chris Fok Kow, 6-1 and 6-2. #18 Soukal followed suit with a win of his own defeating Inaki Braun Simo in three sets, 6-0,6-7, and 6-2. Bacella, #36 Castillo Bernal, and Iriarte closed out the afternoon with wins to lift the Lions over the Mocs, 5-2.
