VALDOSTA, Ga. – The #4 Saint Leo University women's tennis team had a successful showing Sunday, defeating University of West Florida, 6-1.

Saint Leo was able to come out of the gates roaring, sweeping doubles action. The #11 ranked paring of
Marta Vicens Miquel and
Lavinia Lancellotti earned a win over Aline Midori Silva and Carlota Verdu, 6-4.

On the singles side, #21 Marta Vincens Miquel defeated Mayumi Saguchi in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-1. #20
Luzia Obermeier defeated Aline Midori Silva, 6-3 and 6-4. Lavinia Lancelloti picked up a win for the Green & Gold over Guadalupe Martinez, 6-1 and 7-6.
Kamilya Shailina and
Celina Ermann rounded out singles with two wins of their own for the Lions.

They are next in action on March 16th versus the University of Indianapolis at 11:00 am at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
