VALDOSTA, Ga. – The #2 Saint Leo University Men's tennis team had a successful showing Sunday, defeating another nationally-ranked by a big margin against #18 University of West Florida 7-0 at the VSU Tennis Courts.
DOUBLES
The Lions bested the Argonauts in two sets, as the Juniors duo of
Ivan Marrero and
Luis Iriarte defeated Sebastian Rondon and Bernardo Costa 6-4 before Graduates Tao Bernal Castillo and
Nicolas Bacella beat Albin Ekenros and Adam Svensson 6-3. #28 nationally ranked

Vincent Thiel trailed 5-4 to #3 Tomas Descarrega and Facundo Bermejo when Saint Leo was officially awarded the Doubles point.
SINGLES
The Green & Gold took straight sets against UWF in four of the six matches, highlighted by #15 nationally-ranked Iriarte's win over #41 Descarrega 6-4, 6-1.

Martin Soukal came back in three sets to defeat #38 nationally-ranked Bermejo 4-6, 7-5, 12-10 in a tiebreaker set.

The Lions welcome Hillsdale College Monday at home; first serve is set for Noon.
