WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Saint Leo women's tennis team won against Palm Beach Atlantic Wednesday afternoon in West Palm Beach, 7-0.
"We had a good start in doubles but then lost focus on the singles" said head coach
Chad Berryhill. "The conditions were tough, but we have to start better. Palm Beach Atlantic fought hard and I was glad to see us pull it back together to get a good team win."
The Lions kicked off Wednesday afternoons match against Palm Beach right. Sweeping the three doubles matches to start. The Pair of
Marta Vicens Miquel and Lavina Lancelloti took the first match 6-0.
Luzia Obermeier and
Kamilya Shailina would follow suit with a 6-2 victory.
Closing out the doubles matches was
Camila Keller and
Jade Bellegy with a 6-3 victory.
The Lions would keep the momentum heading into singles action.
Miquel would win her second match of the afternoon winning in two sets, 6-3 and 6-0.
Luzia Obermeier would gain another victory for the Green & Gold defeating Svea Crohn in three sets.
Lavinia Lancellotti and
Celina Ermann would grab two wins for the Lions, each winning their matches in straight sets.
Shailina and Keller would find their way into the win column defeating the Sailfish in three sets.
Saint Leo will once again be in action on February 14th as they matchup against University of Tampa. It is scheduled for a 3pm start time.
