Saint Leo, Fla – Saint Leo Women's Tennis bested #16 Embry-Riddle by a final score 0f 5-2. The conference win starts the Lions on the right foot in the SSC.

The Lions began with doubles action where they won two of the three matches. Vicens Miquel won her match 6-4 and
Luzia Obermeier secured a 6-1 victory.

In singles action, the Eagles once again made life tough for Saint Leo but the Green & Gold were able to pull through by winning four out of six matches.

Obermeier secured a 6-4, 7-5 win in her match after the Lions had fallen in the first match.

Obermeier's victory was the first of three in a row as
Lavinia Lancellotti and
Kamilya Shailina also won their matches by scores of 6-3, 6-7, 10-4 and 6-3,6-3 respectfully.

Camila Keller won the last match of the day as the women secured a 5-2 victory overall.
"Not our best performance today but we did a great job of fighting" said Head Coach
Chad Berryhill. "Embry-Riddle gave us a great battle and we were able to step up and close it out even though we let some matches slip. We learned a lot from today and look forward to another battle tomorrow."
